How to get the WhatsApp green tick
The honest version: you mostly cannot make this happen, and it matters less than you think. Meta grants the Official Business Account badge on brand notability — press coverage and public recognition — not on spend, tenure or message volume.

- A registered WhatsApp Business Account
- Genuine third-party press coverage of the brand
The steps

Complete business verification
Nothing else is considered until this is done. It is also the step that actually unlocks capability, unlike the badge.

Build real notability
Meta assesses whether the brand is notable, largely from coverage in independent news sources. Paid placements and press releases you distributed yourself do not count for this.

Submit the request in Business Manager
In WhatsApp Manager, request the Official Business Account status for the number. You can supply supporting links to coverage.

Expect no, and carry on
Most requests are declined, and a decline is not a signal you did anything wrong. You can request again later. Nothing about your messaging capability depends on the outcome.
Where this usually goes wrong

Paying anyone who promises it
No provider, agency or reseller can grant this. Anyone selling it is selling something that is not theirs to sell.

Treating it as a prerequisite
It gates nothing. Templates, broadcasts, tiers and every feature work identically without it.

Confusing it with the display name
Your display name showing correctly is a separate, achievable thing, and it is what most businesses actually wanted.
