Sales & lead capture

WhatsApp chatbot template: insurance quote request

The constraint shapes the whole flow: a bot must not give advice or imply a price it cannot honour. So it collects exactly enough to quote and gets out of the way.

The goal

Collect quotable information without straying into advice.

  1. Send message

    Set the boundary immediately

I can collect the details an adviser needs to quote. I cannot give advice or confirm a price — an adviser will do both.

  2. List menu

    Type of cover

Motor, health, term, travel, property. Each one needs a different set of questions after this.

  3. Condition

    Branch by cover type

Do not ask motor questions of someone wanting health cover. This is the branch that makes the flow feel competent.

  4. Ask a question

Collect the two or three essentials

Registration and year for motor; ages and members for health. Only what is genuinely required to quote.

  5. Ask for a file

Ask for the existing policy, if any

A photo of the current policy answers half the remaining questions and is easier than typing them.

  6. Set attribute

    Record cover type and details

So the adviser opens a quote request, not a blank conversation.

  7. Send message

Say what happens next, with a timeframe

Thanks. A licensed adviser will come back with options within one working day.

  8. Hand off to a human

    Route to a licensed adviser

Always. There is no branch of this flow that ends without a person.

Where this usually goes wrong

  • Letting the bot indicate a premium. Even a range reads as a quote, and you will be held to it.
  • Asking fifteen questions. Collect enough to quote; the adviser can collect the rest on a call people have already agreed to.
  • No stated timeframe. "Someone will contact you" is why people request three quotes elsewhere.
