Connect Zoho CRM to WhatsApp

Zoho is where many Indian sales teams keep the pipeline, and WhatsApp is where the customer actually replies. Watx has no one-click Zoho connector today, so this is built on the public REST API and webhooks — shaped to your modules and fields.

Via the REST API

How this connects

Built against our public REST API and webhooks. This one needs a developer.

Zoho CRM · Via the REST API

Zoho CRM and Watx, together.

  • Create or update Watx contacts from Zoho Leads and Contacts
  • Send a WhatsApp template when a record changes stage, from a Zoho workflow
  • Log WhatsApp conversations and messages back to the Zoho record
  • Scope API keys so the integration only reaches what it needs

Four automations that earn their keep.

  • When

    New lead in Zoho

    Then

Send the first-touch template and open the conversation in the shared inbox.

  • When

    Deal moves stage

    Then

A Zoho workflow calls Watx and the template for that stage goes out.

  • When

    WhatsApp reply received

    Then

A Watx webhook writes it to the record as a note, so the rep sees it in Zoho.

  • When

    Contact opts out

    Then

Write it back so no campaign re-adds them.

How to connect it.

This one needs a developer, and we would rather say so than find out together.

  1. 1 Generate a scoped API key in Watx Settings.
  2. 2 Call the Watx REST API from a Zoho workflow (webhook or Deluge function) or your middleware.
  3. 3 Subscribe a Watx webhook for message and contact events and write them into Zoho.
  4. 4 Map your Zoho fields to Watx contacts and test on a few records first.

Zoho CRM, answered.

Is there a one-click Zoho app?

Not today, and we would rather say so. This is built on the REST API, which usually means a developer or a Zoho consultant for a day or two.

Can I do it without a developer?

For simple flows, yes: send Watx events to Zapier or n8n and use their Zoho CRM steps. Anything that has to send WhatsApp messages from Zoho still calls the REST API.

Is the API on every plan?

Yes. Scoped keys and webhooks are part of the product, not gated behind the top tier.
