How to increase your WhatsApp messaging limit
There is no form and no support ticket that helps. Meta upgrades a number automatically on two conditions, and only one of them is something you do deliberately.
Before you start
- A registered number with traffic
- Recorded opt-in for everyone you message
- A quality rating that is not low
The steps
- 1
Know which tier you are on
The tiers are 250 unique customers per 24 hours unverified, then 1,000, 10,000, 100,000 and unlimited. Replies to inbound conversations are never capped — this only limits conversations you start.
- 2
Actually use the tier you have
Meta upgrades when you send meaningful volume relative to your current limit within a rolling period. A number sitting at 40 sends a day will not move off 1,000 however long you wait.
- 3
Keep the quality rating off low
The second condition, and the one that fails. Rating is driven by blocks and the reasons people give — "didn't sign up for this" does the most damage. Volume alone does not hurt you; unwanted volume does.
- 4
Warm a new number up
Start with traffic you know is wanted: transactional messages and replies to people who wrote first. Grow into the tiers rather than testing the ceiling on day two.
- 5
Check the tier before every large send
Tiers go down as well as up. A downgrade usually lands right after a big poorly-targeted campaign, which is exactly when you were relying on the headroom.
Where this usually goes wrong
-
Believing a provider can raise it
None can. Any vendor implying otherwise is selling something that is not theirs to sell.
-
One bad campaign
A single send to a cold list can undo months of tier-building. The damage is to the rating, and the rating is what the tier depends on.
-
Confusing the limit with throughput
The limit caps how many people; throughput caps how fast. Coexistence fixes throughput at 20 messages per second regardless of tier.
